My Trip to AGPNYC (includes pictures)

I posted last week that my mom and I were heading to AGPNY on Saturday, but I was having trouble reaching the bus driver for confirmation of our trip. Well at the last minute (last Friday at lunch time) the bus drive emailed me to let me know that since enough people did not pay for the trip, he had to cancel the trip. I guess people told him they were going, but never gave him the money. He said that he was refunding me the money that I paid, but I was still upset that my mom and I would not be able to go. So I bit the bullet and got my mom and I train tickets from DC to NYC. It ended up being $130 per person round trip (after the AG code) and we ended up having 12 hours in the city where as with the bus we would have only had 8 hours.

Needless to say, we had a great time together. Neither one of us had been to NYC and my mom had never been to an AGP. I must say that I like AGPC better, but I really liked NYC. I didn?t have time to plan more for us to do so we just walked up and down Fashion Ave, Ave of the Americans and 5th Ave. We shopped at Macy?s and a lot of other stores we came across.

The main purpose of the trip was to drop Kirsten off at the hospital. She had a bubble in her eye and I couldn?t bare to send off at the post office. Kirsten and I have been together for a long time. She even came with me to college. It was really hard for me to leave her. We dropped her off first and every time we walked by the hospital, I would ask my mom if they had visiting hours [img]smile.gif[/img] Than my mom and I went through the store a couple of times for me to decide what I wanted to buy. I plan on finishing the album of what I bought sometime this weekend. But don?t worry, my other doll, Kit didn?t go home alone [img]wink.gif[/img]

You can skip to #38. The pictures of the city are for my cousin?s husband who just loves NYC. I didn?t take any pictures of the store displays because there were so many people around and I had my hands full with Kit and my purchases.

Thanks though for sharing your pics of the hospital check in. It is really cute. If I had a child that was going to need to go to the hospital, that would be a sweet way to prepare her, especially after she sees her doll come home in better condition.

Sorry to hear about the bus...that stinks, especially so close to when you were going. It looks like you had a nice trip though, so that is good. I didn'rt realize all they did at the Place as far as hospital admitance...that is just too cute! [img]wink.gif[/img] DD would love that for sure! Your Kirsten is just beautiful BTW! She will be back before you know it!

Awww that was sad, I looked at your album with you taking your Kirsten to the hospital. Just like with a real little girl, she gets her gown on and gets to ride in a little wheelchair. And when you get her back, she'll have the new lavender hospital gown. It's really a lot cuter than the old green striped ones! (I got my ebay doll in the mail today who was dressed in one--she was freshly home from AGH.)

Hope your Kirsten returns to you soon. In the meantime, Kit will keep you company! If you keep busy sewing, the time will fly! [img]smile.gif[/img]

Great pictures! I love looking at NYC pictures almost as much as seeing AGPNY pics.

We were just in NYC two weeks ago at AGPNY, and enjoyed the same sights! (St. Patrick's isn't it beautiful?) Times Square, Toys R Us, etc! I want to go back. [img]graemlins/cry.gif[/img]
